Pave-Set is a term used in jewelry which literally means "paving-stone setting". Pave-Set is a style of jewelry setting in which many small gemstones, often calibre or faceted diamon ds are set very close together to cover a large area, concealing the metal underneath. The stones are secured in holes drilled through the metal and held in place by burrs pressed over the edges.
