Shantung refers to a woven fabric with a slightly nubby, uneven texture made from cotton, silk or synthetics. It is very similar to Dupioni, although it is a much lighter fabric. It i s also available in polyester. Often used for dressier clothing and suits. Shantung requires dry cleaning, but is fairly stain-resistant fabric.
