Jodhpurs refer to a wide-hipped pants of heavy cloth, fitting tightly from knee to ankle. Moreover, Jodhpurs is a
style of trouser that fits loosely about the hips and tight-fittin g below the knee (about the calves). Joshpurs take their name from a former Nortwest Indian city called Jodhpur. They became popular riding breeches or trousers worn for riding (horses) after World War I and continue to reflect the ultimate in equestrian style.
Famous women equestrians wearing them are Athina Onassis, granddaughter of Aristotle Onassis and Charlotte Casiraghi, granddaughter of Grace Kelly.
