Crushed Velvet refers to a type of velvet which actual looks like the Nap has been crushed in varying degrees. It gives a shimmering effect which can be quite elegant and modern. It is a velvet with a crinkly, wrinkly look; sometimes shiny or shimmers but not smooth.
