Dorothy Gray refers to one of the first proprietors of a moden beauty salon who established her first New York salon in 1916. She went to develop a leading cosmetic and beauty product s company based in Chicago, Illinois. "Russian Products" was one of her successful lines of facial creams and tonics.

Dorothy Gray was the founder of Dorothy Gray Company. Its building was erected in 1928 called Dorothy Gray Building on 5th Avenue in Neww York to house its New York offices and a large beauty salon.
