Hold Ups refer to stockings that have an elastic Top edge with a silicone grip inside to allow them to stay up without the use of a Suspender Belt or Garter Belt. Hold Ups give a sexi ness of stocking without the inconvinience of a Suspender/Garter Belt, they are easier to wear under close fitting clothes than stockings, and it is cool in summer.
The combination of the elasticity of the stocking and the friction of the silicone against the skin ensure that the stockings stay in place. It is important to remember, however, that the silicone bands will not work if moisturising creams or talcs are applied to the leg prior to wearing the Hold Ups.
Hold Ups is known as Thigh-Highs in the United States and Canada.
