Scout refers to a person who is hired or contracted by an agency to seek out new faces or models. Usually, larger agencies will have former models living abroad do their scouting or be their Scouts.

Scout is a verb which means to look for prospective models from smaller agencies, other locations, at the mall or on the beach, etc. It means finding model potential in a crowd.
