Fully Fashioned Stockings refer to the traditional silky stockings with a back seam. They are traditional stockings that are knitted flat on vintage machinery, and then the two (2) si des are then joined manually by hand with a fine seam up the back. They are tailored to the shape of the leg by increasing and decreasing the number of needles used for knitting.

Genuine Fully Fashioned Stockings are now very rare but much sought after. Cervin, Gio and Gerbe are still manufacturing them, with non-stretch 100\% nylon yarns on the original machinery from the 1950's. Modern seamed stockings are knitted in a tube shape, with the seam at the back added afterwards purely for decoration.
