Gota refers to the ancient Persian art which dates back to before the Mughal Empire. In Gota, the patterns which are traced out on silver or gold strips are cut out and sown on to fabric, like patchwork, with a needle that is used to run up and down through the cloth, while the cloth is pulled tightly over a large wooden frame.

A perfect complement to Zardozi work.
